Those old Bosch batteries were horrible, and their new ones are the best I've ever seen. One of the simplest, standard ways of putting together a cabinet is with screws. I want the best tools at the best value, and Dewalt is falling fast while companies like Makita are still holding strong, and Bosch is making a run for the number 1 spot (which might happen now that they redid their batteries. Wow, just watched the video, and that's Ryobi quality right there (which is the route all of Dewalt's quality seems to be heading). how do we find a tapered wood bit that holds up and isn't disposable? That's the million dollar idea □ □ □ □ I had just sort of considered them to be disposable since you can buy replacement bits, without the countersink, for a lot less than the full system. Also, it never happens when using thinner wood like ¾" ply (although ply always gums up bits in general if they get warm enough to soften the glues.) where it always becomes overheated, and later snaps. The countersink is trying to clear wood just as the bit itself is trying to do the same at a faster rate, and it jams it at the middle length of the bit. Perhaps it's their surface area being larger, or the fact that the flutes don't evacuate anymore of their chips/dust once the countersink is touching, and boring.Ĭome to think of it, that must be why. I assume it might be from the heat? Ive tried several brands, and while some might be 'better' they all get extremely hot and discolored. Yeah, it's strange how tapered wood bits just do not last.
